Established by U.S. Post Office Dept., in 1877 in Whitman County, as Pine Creek Post Office, Pine Creek, Wash.; renamed in 1879 when name of town changed to Farmington. Registers and account books, including money orders issued (1898-1932), money order advices received (1883-1945), record and postal account book (1887-1909), registry delivery book (1910-1923), window registration book (1905-1913), and miscellaneous records and correspondence. Includes information relating to the mail order business conducted in rural eastern Washington during a period when many goods were ordered through major mail order houses.

The post office at Farmington, Whitman County, WA was established originally as Pine Creek in 1877. At the request of G.W.
